This is my buddy Huy. He is five years old and can count to 10 in English. I can count to nothing in Vietnamese. So we had a nice time speaking to each other in our own languages as we caught mosquitoes together.
My room was swarming with them when we first got in there, but Huy is a skilled captor! He catches them in his hands and was explaining to me (in Vietnamese, with hand demonstrations) the best way to clap to get the mosquito. I got a few of them and jumped up and down with glee! Huy looked at me like "yea…you caught two mosquitoes…I caught ten in the same amount of time…congratulations…" ha!
The main road in Duc Linh - the rest are made of dirt!
